Tolkien has always been a little controversial. But who knew it could land a kid in so much trouble?
According to his local newspaper, a fourth-grader was recently suspended from school for pretending to be in possession of “the one ring” from the author’s Middle-Earth lore. Apparently, he had just seen the Peter Jackson film adaptation, “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” and returned to school inspired to be his own version of the “sneaky little hobbitses” who took Gollum’s “precious.”
This isn’t the first time the 9-year-old has been in trouble with school officials. He’s been suspended twice before; once for telling a fellow student, who was black, that said student was, in fact, black. He’s only been in the district in question for six months now.
So, where do you suppose this PC-overloaded progressive indoctrination center might be located? New England? The Pacific Northwest? California? No, wrong, and definitely not.
This kid is a student in the Kermit, TX, school district. God bless Texas. *SMH*
