A number of bills have been offered in the Iowa General Assembly this session dealing with elections and voter registration. But a group of Republicans in the Iowa House of Representatives wants to undo some past changes.
House File 138, offered yesterday by state Rep. Sandy Salmon (R-Janesville), would effectively abolish Iowa’s same-day voter registration laws and restore all former laws with regard to voter registration. The bill is opposed by AFSCE Iowa Council 61 and the Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement Action Fund.
