DES MOINES- With health insurance premiums on the rise and deductibles skyrocketing, not to mention the majority of insurance companies in Iowa abandoning the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), Iowans are growing increasingly concerned about healthcare for themselves and their family members.
The impending vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA) sparked the interest of a group of patriotic Iowans, like Gary Leffler from West Des Moines, who stated, “The Affordable Care Act is not affordable, insurers are losing hundreds of millions of dollars and getting out of it, and premiums are skyrocketing for individuals. And, whatever happened to the promise, ‘You can keep your doctor’?”
Parading around the Neil Smith Federal Building on Monday afternoon, the group demonstrated their support for the AHCA and chanted for Iowa US Senators, Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley, to vote “yes” on the bill.
