File this one under “duh.” Sales of the new iPhone 6 outpaced projections, bringing a huge financial windfall for Apple, Inc. That, coupled with the rise of China’s consumer-driven economy, made CEO Tim Cook’s day — big time.
According to Reuters, Apple shattered the record for largest profit ever. We’re talking $18 billion — in profit — in one year. The company now has a cash reserve of $178 billion, which is roughly $556 for every man, woman, and child in the United States.
