Republican presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz will visit the Iowa State Fair on Saturday, taking his turn at The Des Moines Register’s soapbox and grilling some pork chops before heading downtown for his Rally for Religious Liberty at the Veterans Memorial Community Choice Convention Center. His itinerary for the day follows.
Saturday, Aug. 22
9:30 a.m. — media availability outside WHO-AM’s Crystal Studios
10 a.m. — remarks at The Register’s soapbox
11 a.m. — grilling and serving pork chops at the Iowa Pork Producers Tent
6:30 p.m. — Rally for Religious Liberty
