U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) had his own “Pelosi moment” Wednesday during a House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Trade Promotion Authority, which will allow the Obama Administration to fast-track negotiations on several trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Trade in Services Agreement, and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. TiSA and T-TIP are completely secret right now, but TPP may be read by members of Congress and staff with high security clearances, if they go to a special room at the Capitol to read it.
During the hearing, Ryan told a colleague, effectively, that Congress will have to pass TPA in order to know what it does.
