Liberty Iowa has announced the first of many “Liberty on the Rocks” events scheduled to take place Friday June 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines.
The gathering is a casual social event for Liberty Iowa members and guests to enjoy each other’s thoughts on current and upcoming political issues and events as well as to discuss ongoing matters within the Liberty Iowa grassroots organization.
Last month, Liberty Iowa’s welcomed its new executive director Andy Curran. And on Saturday, through the Facebook event promoting the upcoming “Liberty on the Rocks”, Sarah Brooks introduced herself as the new executive assistant at Liberty Iowa.
Curran said the group “plans to make “Liberty on the Rocks” a regularly scheduled social gathering where members and guests can discuss current political issues and events, and just enjoy each other’s company.”
“Liberty Iowa is committed to educating voters, and encouraging them to stand up for their liberties. There are many ways you can become involved and have a voice in what is about to unfold politically over this next year. Now is the time to get involved and make a difference towards issues of importance. This first event will be the beginning of much more to come,” stated Brooks.
The upcoming “Liberty on the Rocks” event will be an event for Des Moines politicos to network, hear about the new agenda for Liberty Iowa moving forward into the next year, and learn how they can make an impact in their local, state and federal government.
Liberty Iowa was formed with the goal of empowering liberty minded voters in Iowa to take control of their government once again. We believe that the status quo in Des Moines politics favors insiders and large political donors while average Iowans are largely removed from the legislative process. We believe that a peaceful and prosperous Iowa is one that maximizes both economic and civil liberties.
With this in mind, Liberty Iowa aims to return our state to the principles of limited government, free enterprise and individual liberty, and to make Iowa an example for the rest of the nation.
