U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley released his weekly video address today in which he honors America’s veterans. He spoke about his recent visit with World War II veterans who participated in the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, and also about the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
“I encourage all Iowans to join Barbara and me as we honor those who sacrificed life and limb to protect, defend and preserve our freedoms,” he said. “You might look for Memorial Day events in your community. From parades and potlucks to memorial services and flag raising ceremonies, you could bring your families, friends and neighbors to show your respect for veterans’ service and sacrifice.”
