Callie Chatman says she is a licensed, ordained minister in Montgomery, AL, working as a youth minister and Adult Sunday School teacher at her husband’s church, New Elam Baptist Church. Sadly, she also works at Reproductive Health, an abortion clinic, as an exit counselor.
Pro-life activists who sidewalk counsel outside the abortion clinic uploaded a YouTube video showing her husband, pastor Louis Chatman, allegedly dropping her off to work there. They say she has worked there for years, as does her and Louis’ son, Jerome.
They don’t hide any of these facts. Callie was interviewed last year for an article in Esquire magazine about her work. This is what she had to say about it:
“You know, preacher been teaching that the wages of sin is death. Not many of them know that God is a forgiving God. So if they ask me if I think they’ll go to hell, I tell them what Jesus say: ‘I do not condemn thee. Go and sin no more.’ I tell them not to make the same mistake—and how not to make the same mistake …
“What they have told me is it’s the last resort. And I am here to let them know that God will meet you right where you are. And then I ask them to accept Christ as their lord and savior.”
